"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing."

-Psalm 100:1-2

We have a vibrant and active music ministry at First Baptist Church of Sparks.  We love to worship the Lord in song and in fellowship with one another!  Among our many musical groups, we have special musical Sundays throughout the year.  These include our Bluegrass Sundays, Christmas Cantata, Easter Cantata, Patriotic Holiday services, and Revival Services.  Our goal is to make worshiping the Lord an uplifting, fun, and powerful experience every time we get together.  We offer many different music programs at the church, including:

Church Choir

The church choir is comprised of around 40 members.  It is an SATB choir that likes to sing hymn arrangements, southern gospel songs, and spirituals.  The choir sings for both Sunday morning services about once a month and puts on special cantata programs for Christmas and Easter services.  This group loves singing praises and has a lot of fun doing so.  If you have any interest in joining the church choir, please contact Thomas Wininger (thomas@fbcsparks.org).  We would love to have you!

Praise Team

The praise team helps in leading the contemporary worship services every Sunday morning, and assists with our special "Bluegrass Sunday" worship services on occasion.  The band is made up of singers, guitar players, drummers, piano players, and other instrumentalists that enjoy playing for the Lord.  It is a very upbeat group that is welcoming and enjoys fellowship.  We are always looking for more musicians to come join the team and add to the worship experience!  If you would like to inquire about joining the praise team, please contact Thomas Wininger (thomas@fbcsparks.org).

Men's Choir

This group of men get together to praise the Lord in song.  The choir is comprised of about 15 men of all ages, and we welcome any man that enjoys singing.  It is always a fun and lively time when this group gets together.  Whether it be the rollicking singing, the knee-slapping humor, or the fun fellowship, the men's choir is a great way to get involved with music at First Baptist Church of Sparks.   If you are interested in receiving more information about the men's choir, please contact Thomas Wininger (thomas@fbcsparks.org).

Women's Choir

The women's choir is a strong group of strong women who enjoy singing together.  The group consists of roughly 20 members of all ages, and are always looking for more women to join in the fun.  The women's choir sings all types of music, from sweet hymn arrangements to up tempo spirituals.  This group is a very loving group where all are welcomed.  We would love to invite you to join us!  Please contact Thomas WIninger (thomas@fbcsparks.org) with any questions.

The orchestra is the newest addition to our church's music ministry, making it's debut in the summer of 2015.  The orchestra serves as an accompaniment group to aid the choirs and congregation in singing, and add to the overall worship experience.  We do not yet have every instrument in Psalm 150 represented, but we are well on our way!  If you are interested in sharing your instrumental music talents with us here at First Baptist Church of Sparks, please contact Thomas Wininger (thomas@fbcsparks.org).
